All citiesHow this list is built
Every business here is a working electrician in California, checked one at a time against its own public listing. A listing only publishes when the record matches by id, not by name. That is what keeps one company from being confused with a company of the same name a county away.
Nobody pays to be on this list. Nobody pays to move up it. There is no tracking number in front of the real one. The phone number on a profile is the one the business publishes.
Check the license yourself
Every electrical contractor in California holds a C 10 license, and the record is public. Before you hire anyone, search the number they give you. Check that it matches the name on the contract.
Where a listing matches an active C-10 record at the contractor board, its profile says so and links to that record. We never print a license number as a fact on its own. A number copied from a listing and shown as fact is how a stale record turns into a claim about somebody. The board record is the live one.

How to Read Your Own Electrical Panel
What the numbers mean, what a bad panel looks like, and what to leave alone.

Wire Size, Amps and Why It Matters
Why a 20 amp breaker on thin wire is the most dangerous shortcut in a house.
Working in the trade
Spark also carries a learning center for electricians. How to get into an apprenticeship, what the certification path looks like in California, how to pass the journeyman exam, and what it takes to run your own shop.
The licensing pages cover all fifty states, because the rules change hard at a state line and most of what is written about this online is wrong for where you live.
Calculators that show their working
Voltage drop, wire size, conduit fill, box fill, a dwelling load calculation, Ohm law and electric car charge time. Every one prints the arithmetic underneath the answer, so it is useful on a job and useful the week before an exam.
